Appeal: Dovecote-to-library conversion refused due to heritage impact


The conversion of a dovecote to a library in Bloxham, Oxfordshire, has been refused after an inspector ruled that the scheme would unduly harm the heritage significance of a nearby listed building.

The Dovecote in question is part of a residentially converted tythe barn, which itself is curtilage listed because of its historic association with the grade II listed Rectory Farmhouse, despite the two properties now being separately owned.While accepting that views of the appeal site are reasonably restricted from public roads, inspector Jon Hockley said that from closer view points the........
