Appeal: Controversial green belt golf scheme can be enlarged

A £15 million redevelopment of a green belt golf course in Hounslow that was controversially allowed at appeal in 2017 can be enlarged further, after an inspector ruled that the community benefits of the revised scheme outweighed its harm to the green belt. 

Weighing against this, Woodward noted, was the fact that the revised scheme would see an additional £2.5 million invested over and above the £15 million wider scheme, and would create an additional 13.5 full-time equivalent non-seasonal jobs. A community benefits package was also proposed, offering use of the facilities to local schools and disadvantaged groups.
