Appeal: Concrete production ruled appropriate for lifetime of South Downs quarry


New planning permission has been granted for an existing ready-mixed concrete batching plant within the South Downs National Park, against the decision of the National Park Authority (NPA).

The plant is located within the Valdoe Quarry, which inspector Michael Hetherington noted is currently being restored with an expected end date of December 2018. A previous condition attached to the original permission granted to the plant stipulated that the plant's activity should cease on or before the 31st December 2012.
