Appeal: Communities secretary approves specialist school in Maidenhead green belt


Communities secretary Sajid Javid has approved plans for a new school on green belt land in Maidenhead, after finding that very special circumstances had been demonstrated to make the scheme appropriate.

The appellant, Beech Lodge School (BLS), is described as currently running a small school for children with specific educational needs and learning difficulties, with a large proportion of attendees having been fostered or adopted. The school is noted as having special expertise in the area of attachment, developmental and relational trauma.
