Appeal: Clark rules Rugby wind turbines ‘a threat to heritage assets’

Communities secretary Greg Clark has supported an inspector’s decision to refuse planning permission for four wind turbines and associated works in Pailton, Rugby, after identifying a number of issues relating the impact of the development on the visual amenity of area and a grade II listed church.

Clark agreed with inspector Paul Jackson’s assessment that presence of the turbines would detrimentally affect the rural setting of the Holy Trinity Church, which adds to the building’s historical significance.
