Appeal: Clark backs Northamptonshire homes despite neighbourhood plan conflict

The Department for Communities and Local Government has supported an inspector’s decision to grant permission for 39 homes in Earls Barton despite the development’s possible conflict with the emerging Earls Barton Neighbourhood Plan (EBNP).

The EBNP sets out future housing needs for the village, within which 19.3-hectares of land have been allocated for mixed use development, including 280 dwellings.

The proposal in question, submitted by Bowbridge Land Ltd, does not accord with countryside policies within the adopted development plan as it constitutes development in the open countryside. However, the secretary agreed with r.....Sign Up or Login to read full article
