Appeal: Children’s nursery allowed despite noise impact concerns


Permission has been granted for a children’s day care nursery in Verwood, Dorset, after an inspector found that appropriate measures had been taken to ensure that the noise disturbance form the scheme would not adversely affect the living conditions of nearby residents.

Inspector Stephen Hawkins praised the design of the scheme, assessing that it would “be an appropriate response to the local character and would not appear at odds with the surroundings”.The nursery would cater for up to 60 children between three months and five years old. Hawkins noted that use of an outdoor play area had the potential to generate “significant levels of noise and disturbance”,........
