Appeal: Car-only access makes AONB ‘safari tents’ unsustainable


Plans for three ‘safari tents’ to be used as holiday accommodation in the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) have been refused because their isolated location would force visitors to rely on private cars.

The development site, to the north of an existing holiday park with static caravans, is used as a seasonal campsite under the ‘28-day rule’ (meaning the land can be used for camping for 28 days without planning permission). The proposal would see three large ‘safari-style’ tent structures put up in the field, to be used by holidaymakers between spring and autumn.........
