Appeal: Aldi store approved despite Lidl objections

Plans for a new Aldi store on the outskirts of Whitchurch, Shropshire, have been approved, despite objections from rival supermarket Lidl, who argued the impact on its town centre store would be ‘catastrophic’ and could cause it to close.
