Appeal: 71-flat extension to five-storey Romford building blocked

Plans to add an extra five storeys to an existing block of 115 flats in Romford have been blocked after an inspector decided that the scheme would create unacceptable living conditions for occupants and would not meet local design standards.

The appeal relates to a five-storey U-shaped residential building overlooking a large roundabout in Romford, East London. The scale of neighbouring buildings is varied, with the tallest reaching nine storeys in height.
