Appeal: ‘No demand’ for community use of former London police station

An inspector has granted permission to change a former police station in St John’s Wood into apartments, ruling that despite a ‘deficient’ initial marketing exercise, the lack of demand to retain it for community or social use has now been demonstrated.

The appeal relates to a historic former police station in St John's Wood, north-west London. It was put on the private market in 2013, along with various other police stations across the city, as part of a £500 million cost-cutting drive by the Mayor of London.
