Appeal: ‘Gothic mansion’ approved for holiday accommodation use


Permission has been granted for a mixed C3/sui generis use to include holiday accommodation within a building in Bristol known as ‘the Gothic Mansion’.

The building originally comprised a self-contained flat, which is to be retained, and a nine-bedroom residential house. An enforcement notice was issued against the appellant after a change of use to holiday accommodation was implemented without planning permission.
