Appeal: ‘Custom-build’ houses would have damaging visual impact on AONB

Plans to demolish a garden centre and nursery to make way for five custom-build homes have been dismissed, after an inspector decided that their increased height would harm the character of the area.

The appeal site is located in the North Wessex Downs AONB, in an area that retains a decidedly rural character despite a number of other residential properties bordering the site, said inspector Chris Forrett.
