Appeal: 'Adult entertainment venue' unlikely to deter town centre visitors

A lap-dancing venue has been approved for the town centre of Southsea, Portsmouth, after concerns about its impact on the vitality of the area were refuted.

Inspector Jo Dowling noted that the Albert Grove and Elm Grove District Centre, within which the appeal site is located, is characterised by a variety of specialist and independent shops, bars and restaurants. She considered that the venue would have a very limited physical impact on the street and the wider district centre and would not alter the current composition of the primary frontage........
