Aberdare campus redevelopment set to yield 110 new homes
Proposals to build more than 100 homes on the site of a college campus in Aberdare were set to be given the green light this week by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.
Coleg y Cymoedd is relocating its Aberdare campus to a new site in Robertstown for the 2017/18 academic year.
As a result, its Cwmdare site will be surplus to requirements from August 2017.
Arup, on behalf of the college, has lodged an outline planning application for a development of up to 110 houses on the land.
The properties would be a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom houses and bungalows, with 10 per cent allocated for affordable housing.
The site has been used as a college campus since 1959 and currently features a number of education buildings, which will be demolished under these proposals.
